Le Lodge: Le Pont De La Tour launches winter terrace

This January, Tower Bridge institution Le Pont de la Tour will bring a taste of the Alps to the river Thames as they launch their winter terrace, Le Lodge.

Arriving just in time for the start of the ski season, Le Pont de la Tour’s terrace has been transformed into an Alpine Lodge, complete with vintage ski poles and a stag’s head mounted on the wall. Offering the perfect escape from a cold winter’s day, guests will be able to wrap up warm with sheepskin blankets and fur cushions draped over every chair, while baskets filled with pine cones and logs will evoke that classic ski chalet look.

Chef Julien Imbert’s menu of indulgent winter warmers, has been designed especially for the terrace and will include classic dishes of Tartiflette with Reblochon, lardons and caramelised onions and Canadian favourite, Poutine. Le Pont de la Tour’s Bar & Grill menu of French bistro classics such as Côte de Boeuf, Charcuterie, and Moules Frites will also be available on the terrace.

To warm the cockles, the team has created a selection of cocktails, from Blazing French Toddys made with the finest Hennessy Cognac, orange liqueur, honey syrup and mixed spices; and Mulled Wine made from a generous glass of Curvée Jean- Paul red wine gently warmed up with winter spices, orange and a dash of brandy; to Le Pont de la Tour’s very own Hot Chocolate spiked with Havana Selection Maestro, whisky cream liqueur and melted chocolate.

“Growing up in France, I would ski in the Alps every winter so I can’t wait to launch Le Lodge at Le Pont de la Tour this year” Says Head Chef Julien Imbert. “It’s the perfect excuse to eat comfort food and although you might not have been skiing all day here in London, we think the cold weather is reason enough to indulge!”
