New Concept Food Hall at Pier Head

A new dining concept will launch in Liverpool’s striking docklands this Spring.

The Dockside Dining Club will be created at Mann Island on the Pier Head, as part of the brand new concept created in collaboration with established city operator Andy Duckworth (pictured), CBRE and owners RBH Properties.

The multi-vendor casual dining food hall design will have a variety of different food stalls and a cen-tralised, communal dining area akin to the burgeoning street food-style trend that has been emerg-ing across the continent and UK.

Andy Duckworth, who has been responsible for several creative hospitality brands in the city over the past 25 years, said: “From Foodhallen in Amsterdam, Torvehallerne in Copenhagen to Dalston Food Market in London; food halls have already seen a massive resurgence in recent years.

“The Pier Head presents a great opportunity for a place like this – not only serving the flourishing tourist market but the business community in the Three Graces and the CBD. With the huge cultur-al agenda for 2018 for the 10th anniversary year of the Capital of Culture too, it feels like a great time to be launching,” added Andy, who is also a long-standing member of the Liverpool-based fes-tival team, Africa Oye.

“We want to hear from vendors from the city who are keen to show Liverpool for the amazing food-hub it is, and also from national restaurants who want to test out the market with a temporary pop-up in a great location.”

The Dockside Dining Club will be situated on the Strand side of the iconic Mann Island building and neighbours the Open Eye Gallery and the new RIBA North space. It will also serve the creative companies at Avenue HQ – Mann Islands’ creative co-working space among the millions of tourist who flock to the Waterfront each year.

Nick Huddleston at CBRE, letting agent for the scheme on behalf of the owners RBH Prop-erties said: ’’We are delighted to lease this unit and large external terrace to Dockside Dining Club for their exciting street food market and bar concept. Mann Island is now a key hub at the Water-front and Dockside Dining will add a key vibrant daytime and night time addition to the scheme but also intertwine with the thriving wider Castle Street and Albert Dock bar restaurant circuit.”

Working with city-based designers, the team have developed a market style layout with ten fully equipped units, a permanent fully licensed bar and bench seating in between. There are plans for a series of events to launch the project and opening is expected this Spring.Full hire of the space for corporate clients can also be obtained as well as transformations of the space for different projects and ideas.

Andy added: “Not only do we want to have an evolving food offering but we also want to entice people down to the Pier Head to use the space in creative and imaginative ways – whether that launching new products to the world on a Tuesday afternoon or artists stretching their creative tal-ents live on a Friday night.”
