On 21st March, Orrery, the French restaurant in the heart of Marylebone will celebrate its 21st birthday in their newly designed space, with a one-off ticketed dinner cooked by Orrery alumni. The stellar line-up includes Chris Galvin, Chef Patron of the Galvin empire, André Garrett of Cliveden House, Allan Pickett, Executive Chef of the Swan at Shakespeare’s Globe and Pollen Street Social’s sommelier, Matthew Mawtus.
Showcasing the past and present of Orrery cooking across two decades, resident Chef Igor Tymchyshyn will begin by serving the Orrery classic, fillet steak tartare, quail egg, sourdough & truffle before Allan Pickett’s fish course of Seared sea scallop, caramelised cauliflower purée & florets, golden raisins and spiced oil. Chris Galvin takes to the pass next with his main course of Laque dombe duck, foie gras, pickled turnip and spiced jus, followed by resident frommelier, Anthony Schepper, who will present his cheese trolley tableside, serving some of his favourites. Looking after dessert will be André Garrett with his Peanut butter mousse, bitter chocolate, lemon, salted caramel and honeycomb. Wine pairings will be in the hands of Matthew Mawtus, who will be marrying up each course with a glass of wine from Orrery’s award-winning wine collection.
Working closely with David D’Almada of Sagrada, Orrery has just re-opened with a beautiful new design, with interiors inspired from the south of France. The dining room has muted tones of grey, blue and lilac throughout, and by day, is brightened by the floor to ceiling arched windows that frame the St Marylebone Church courtyard.
“Over the years, Orrery has been home to a host of fantastic chefs, and having just celebrated our 21st birthday, it felt like the right time invite them back. I am honoured to cook in company of this calibre, and look forward to taking our guests through the journey too” says Igor.
