PAUL UK comments on Government rejection of Latte Levy

In light of the news today announcing the Government’s rejection to impose a ‘latte levy’ on disposable coffee cups to reduce their use, please see comment below from Jean-Michel Orieux, CEO of PAUL UK:

‘We strongly believe our customers are committed to helping the environment and therefore able to make their own informed decisions without the need for taxation at this point. Our philosophy is to provide positive incentives rather than to tax them.

‘We reward our customers with a 25p discount for bringing their own cup, as well as offering our own branded reusable cups in-store in a bid to reduce plastic usage and make a positive environmental change. We are confident these steps are making a significant difference.’

A destination for delicious, beautifully prepared hot drinks, PAUL’s range includes classic coffees and teas alongside rich Hazelnut Hot Chocolate, Vanilla Cappuccino and Caramel Latte, to be enjoyed alongside viennoiserie, freshly prepared sandwiches and cakes.

PAUL has 33 sites across London and three regional sites in Oxford (High Street and Westgate Shopping Centre) and Newbury Parkway.
